CSPro for Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI)

This eLearning course aims to equip students design and implement surveys using, CSPro or Census and Survey Processing System, a leading platform for Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI). CSPro is a free, globally trusted software package developed by the US Census Bureau, primarily for the editing, processing, and dissemination of census and survey data. It has been used by the United States Agency for International Development and the United Nations Children’s Fund for implementing Demographic and Health Survey in over 90 countries and the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey in over 100 countries, respectively.

Through interactive modules and personalized instruction from one course instructor and a team of course assistants, learners will be able to develop a strong foundation of the basics of CAPI data collection and management. This course is a collaboration between the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations-Regional Office For Asia and the Pacific (FAO RAP) towards mainstreaming CAPI globally for better data quality.

This e-Learning course aims to introduce Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange (SDMX) to managers, supervisors, statisticians, IT experts and other staff of national statistical offices, line ministries of national statistical systems, regional and international organizations, and other organizations involved in statistical data and metadata management. The e-Learning course will discuss the rationale and benefits of SDMX and an overview on the SDMX Information Model, Content-Oriented Guidelines, SDMX Infrastructure, and IT Tools.

This eLearning course will equip students to design and implement surveys using Survey Solutions, a leading platform for Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI). Survey Solutions is a free, globally trusted software package developed by the World Bank to assist governments, national statistics offices, and non-governmental organizations in collecting high quality data using mobile (Android) devices. The software supports customizations to specific advanced needs––from simple questionnaires to more sophisticated ones that involve multistage panels.

Through interactive modules and personalized instruction from one course instructor and a team of course assistants, learners will be able to develop a strong foundation of the basics of CAPI data collection and management.
