Meaningful Youth Engagement Training

The course is an introduction to Meaningful Youth Engagement (MYE) for development practitioners in Asia and the Pacific. The goal is to strengthen their capacity to embed MYE in development projects by exposing them to the core principles and relevant approaches to MYE, drawing from the framework proposed by the Youth Voices in Youth Employment (YVYE) publication. Though the course asserts that MYE is relevant across all development areas, the framework drawn from the YVYE study is based on youth employment program experience. Insights drawn from this research, complemented by case studies of MYE in action from the Asia Pacific, are used in the course to illustrate methods on how MYE can be mainstreamed in other development sectors and strengthen regional capacity to engage youth. Finally, lessons are broadly tailored to the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) project cycle to build the capacity of the Bank’s staff and stakeholders.
